Helpful and attentive guide with well-organized trip from start to finish, proper communication throughout the journey. Yot, our main hiking guide, is a superman, helping all 3 girls getting up to the summit safely. We really appreciate his kindness and thoughtfulness. The misson was to climb Rinjani volcano. The organisation did a great job of preparing me and the others in the group before we set off and while up the mountain. There was plentiful food and drink for the whole time which was carried up by porters who are impressively fit! Adi our guide helpful and fitted right in with the bunch of 5 guys who formed the group. The volcano and lake in the caldera is stunning making all the effort worthwhile. We were all dropped off at our next respective hotels at the end of the trip. I will use them again

I climbed rinjani with my girlfriend and we had an amazing time. Our tour guide Adi was great – very helpful and knowledgable about the area and made sure we made it to camp/ summit comfortably on time. The team of porters working with him were amazing, cooking delicious food and setting up our camp before we arrived. The homestay the night before the hike was very comfortable too.

What an experience!!! It was the most challenging thing we have done both physically and mentally but we did it! We couldn’t have done it with our incredible guide Adi who was an absolute joy from the first moment meeting him. Adi was welcoming, kind, funny, he was able to answer all our questions, held great knowledge of the mountain as worked it for many years. Adis English was great and we felt, safe, supported and cared for the entire journey. Our amazing porters Diwan and Davin were just insane, the way they can move up the mountain so fast in the heat with that weight! The food was great and they were behind the scenes making sure all our comforts were meet. We would truly encourage anyone doing Mt Rinjani to tip both the porters and your guide. I don’t think I have seen this level of dedication, strength and willingness in any job and these boys do this day in day out! We couldn’t recommend Adi enough, you will be in good hands!

Great experience at Mount Rinjani with Tony. Everything was perfect and well organized. Tony is smiling, very friendly and always there to motivate us. The meals were very good. The hike is demanding but the scenery is worth it. I recommend!

This is my second trip with Lombok-Indonesia and I have nothing but positive things to say about this company.

First, safety. In light of recent events on Rinjai, people are understandably worried about safety. This company is not associated with this incident. What I can say is, while the hike is challenging, the guides made sure to take every safety precaution possible. They are always in front/behind the group, within speaking and line of sight of all guests, and are trained to check for any potential signs of danger. There were dozens of occasions where the guides proactively warned me about any potential hazards, and they were constantly checking on our wellbeing. They also stock first aid and rescue supplies on every trip.

Second, the booking process is seamless and straightforward. You select your dates, packages and make a modest deposit to secure the permit from the Indonesian government. That’s all you need to secure your trekking dates.

Third, the logistics process. One of the managers (Hill/Hamdi) reach out to you well ahead of your Lombok trip with the itinerary, equipment to bring, and collect information to apply for your permits. It’s a very easy process and they are quick to respond to any inquiries.

Fourth, the homestay facilities are very good with an amazing infinity pool and waterfall view right outside of each private villa.

Fifth, the trekking itself. Our guides Toni and Ariadi were both outstanding. They immediately made us feel like we were family. They had plenty of stories, jokes, and interesting facts to make the trekking more enjoyable. The guides paid special attention to those in our group who thought they couldn’t reach the summit. We all made it in the end. And the food/facilities provided by the porters during the trek were above standard for Mt. Rinjani based on my observations.

We went on this tour at the first week of June 2025.

Short itinerary:

– 1 day before the hike begins they’ll pick you up from the hotel, transfer you to another accomondation to stay 1 night nearby the mountain (apprx. 1h by car)

– on the day the hike starts: they’ll drive you in a pick up car to a medical station to check your blood pressure (costs not included in the tour), after that they’ll bring you to the national park entrance registration to register that you enter the national park. that makes sense, because after the hike you have to return to this spot and they call your name to check if you are back. if all the organisational part is done they’ll bring you to the gate where the hike starts (approx 10 AM to 11 AM)

– there are check points where you can have a break, they are called Pos (position). Lunch is usually at Pos 2. From Gate to Pos 2 takes about 3hrs. We ate at approx. 2PM.

– it takes another 3.5 hrs from Pos 2 to the base camp. We reached it between 4PM and 5PM. After that there is nothing to do. Just to chill and eat dinner.

– 2nd part of the hike: Wake up at 2 AM to catch the sunrise in time at 6:20 AM. We reached it 2 mins before. we had a toast and nutella for breakfast. 2nd breakfast will be at approx. 9 to 10 AM at the base camp.

Hygiene: there is no shower. be prepared to do business in the wild behind black sqaured tend without roof.

Tent/food/chair etc: 3 porters will carry all the stuff – you don’t have to worry about anything. a porter carries about 25 to 35 kg.

we were a couple and the tour consists another couple. 4 people per tour is very nice.

the guide had the time to talk to us and it wasn’t crowded at all and he is watching us all the time to check if we are well.

I really appreciate the size of our tour. I saw many other tours where at least 8 people per tour was.

the hike: it was really hard, but doable. its about 2600hm you would do in 2 days. the hardest part was downhill though. the 2nd part of the hike was difficult since the path was more like sand that makes it hard to walk.

we tipped the porters and the guide additionally to show our appreciation.

Toni was the best guide ever! Lombok-Indonesia.org did it all for us, transportation from the harbor, home stay the night before, guide, meals, you name it. I wouldn’t choose anyone else but Toni to be our guide and our porters Bobby, Joe, and Tor were the best ever. Toni kept the atmosphere light and showed that he cared about our experience at every turn. I highly recommend choosing this company for your adventure up rinjani!

Rinjani is famous so must be the Lombok Indonesia trek.

We booked before our trip this trek (3D2N)and already get the feeling that’s the organisation was perfectly set : the communication was perfect, the explanations clear.

When we arrived at the port, everything was set. We put our brain off, just following the flow so well organised.

2 hours later, we arrived at the rental shop, met hill and get all the equipments we need. I can already say that you will need everything they do recommend (gloves, raincoat, walking stick) and that they are of very good quality.

We went to our accomodation, the room was clean and get explanations from Hill about the trek. Once again everything was clear, hill was patient, kind, and make us feel like he was really carefully about us to feel happy and confortable.

How can we start better ?

The next morning we met our team : ariadi, our guide, our two porters Door and Adim.

If I have any advice, ask for them to guide you.

Our experience was fantastic and without any doubt, thanks to their professionalism and company. They are kind, attentive, always smiling, they care about you, your well being. They are really good cooker, everything we had was delicious (by the way, the portion was big for us, so to avoid any waste, we ask them to have smaller quantity).

at the end, we felt that we made some friends more than being customer anymore. Making the goodbye harder than never.

Ask for Ariadi to have a wonderfull journey and trust the experience of hill, as an ancient guide and porter, for sure you can trust them 😉

This trip was honestly incredible! Everything was amazing from Hill sorting everything out perfectly to the incredible guides and porters. Our guide Tony was one of the kindest people I’ve met and constantly makes sure you’re ok 24/7. I have been on the 3 day hiking on Rinjani and the trekking was absolutely amazing! The orbni sarkon, transzfer and accommodation went smoothie. Our guide was Sting who is the best guide I could wish! He always kept us updated about the hike, he was motivating, helpful and in a really good mood. The hike is not easy but it really worths it, I loved every moment! We saw breathtaking sunrises, sunsets, clouds, even a rainbow! The weather was perfect in the end of April. The porters are doing unbelieveble work, they carry all the food and tents in baskets and are wearing flipflops. But not only the carrige, also the food they prepare is sooo good, I was really not expecting this good food on the top of the mountains. Thank you Sting and Team for everything!

At one point, I was really scared because of the heigh. I started to cry and he comes to me, gives me his hand and his support. With his empathy and his presence, I feel secure and this is really important when you are going thru big emotion !!!

This company is organised, helpful and their communication is great before, during and after the hike. I recommend this company if you want to do this hike. However, I suggest anyone interested in doing the hike is fit and has experience in hiking as it is very challenging, especially the final ascent to the summit. The views are spectacular and unforgettable and worth it!

Chose the 3D2N option. Greatly overestimated myself and underestimated Gunung Rinjani so please come prepared physically and mentally. Luckily my very capable guide Endiy was able to accommodate and adjust to my needs. His knowledge of the terrain and the history of Rinjani is impressive.

Along the way our porters Dinn,Pinn and Sull cooked some of the best Indonesian food I have tasted. From ingredients they carried up the mountain on their backs. When we arrived at camp at the end of the first day our tents and bedding were already set up and waiting for us. Waking up to the sunrise atop the mountain with one of the most majestic views I have ever seen was made ten times better with a hot tea in hand. prepared by the guys who carried 90% of our load. I did 2N3D. Great organization and pick up service. First night in hotel before hike was better standard that expected. Actual hike was mixed experience. Fabulous guiding by Endiy and portering plus delicious fresh and cooked food by Dinn, Pinn and Sull. Physically it is tough so come prepared to climb up 2000+m the first day and with good shoes and equipment / change of clothes for three days plus warm and waterproof things! Views good and a memorable experience – if you are fit enough!!!

I booked the 2 day 1 night summit trek and had an excellent time. I was a solo traveller and felt so welcomed by Hill at the homestay the night before. I felt well informed and breasted the night before with plentey of opportunity to ask questions. My guide Yot was amazing. He was great company during the walk and kept the whole group entertained, motivated and informed about the hike. The porters also were excellent and made some incredible food. We were very well fed the entire time. The hike was difficult but everyone involved helped me feel super supported.

My girlfriend and I booked a 3 day and 2 night trekking tour with Lombok-Indonesia.org. Communication was excellent. We got a briefing before hand and could stay at there pre arranged home stay. The tour it self was excellent with a great guide (Yot), he could tell us everything you liked to know about the area and kept sure every member of the group was at peace. Luckily the group wasn’t that big. We started the tour in Sembalum and ended in Senaru which we liked. The second day was pretty hard, however very rewarding with a rest at the hotsprings, great lunch, beautiful views and the help of Yot and the great porters(incredible how strong they are and good cooks)!!

It was a wonderfull journey to the Rinjani Summit ! We were really lucky with the weather but especially with the teams ! Our guide, Endiy, was always smiling, giving good energy to climb but also interesting story about the mountains. We made this aventure together with a friendly French couple and shared really good moments together ! Finally, Hill was really responsive and well organised to provide home stay and travels wherever we wanted in Lombok !
