Labuan Bajo is a small town, so most areas are convenient, but the best place to stay is near the waterfront and the main harbor area. Staying close to the water makes it very easy to reach your boat on departure day since most cruises, including ours, board from the marina or nearby piers. Being close to the harbor also means shorter walking or driving distances in the early morning, which helps keep your start to the trip simple and stress free.
The waterfront area has the highest concentration of hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, and cafes. It is also the most convenient place to walk around before your cruise. Many travellers enjoy staying near Jalan Soekarno Hatta or the Marina area because everything they need is right outside the door. You can grab dinner, pick up sunscreen or snacks, or stop by a dive shop without needing transportation.
If you prefer something quieter, there are hillside hotels just above the main town that offer beautiful sea views. These places are still close enough for an easy transfer to the harbor, usually less than a 5 to 10 minute ride. They are great for travellers who want a peaceful rest before or after their Komodo trip.
No matter where you stay, Labuan Bajo is compact and easy to navigate. For guests coming from Lombok or after finishing a Mt. Rinjani trek, our team can help you choose the best hotel location based on your arrival time and cruise schedule. Staying near the water is the simplest and most reliable choice for a smooth start to your Komodo adventure.
