Can you shower on mount rinjani?

There are no places to shower on Mount Rinjani, and hikers should be prepared for basic conditions throughout the trek. The mountain has no plumbing, no facilities, and no running water at the campsites. The crater rims are exposed, high altitude locations where only tents and temporary equipment can be set up, so showering is not possible during any part of the climb.

The only water sources in the caldera are the lake and the nearby hot springs, but these are not suitable for bathing or washing. The lake is protected and off limits for swimming, and the hot springs are meant for brief soaking, not cleaning or rinsing. Hikers should avoid using soap or shampoo near any natural water sources because it harms the environment.

Most trekkers rely on wet wipes and basic personal cleaning items until the trek is complete. Once back in Senaru or Sembalun, clean showers and full facilities are available at the homestay. While the Rinjani trek does not offer shower opportunities, the experience is short enough that most hikers manage comfortably with simple hygiene during their time on the mountain.
