Do I get a refund if there is bad weather on mount rinjani?

rinjani weather refund

Bad weather refunds are not usually an issue on Mount Rinjani because you do not pay for the trek fee until you arrive, which means you are never at risk of losing money due to weather related cancellations. The only advance payment is the national park permit, and this fee is controlled by the park itself. They do not issue refunds for any reason, including weather. However, because we do not collect the trek payment until the day you begin, you are protected from losing the larger portion of your booking.

Weather cancellations are extremely rare. Mount Rinjani remains open in normal rain, cloudy conditions, and light wind. Trekking continues even during typical wet season weather, since the mountain is closed entirely from January to March. The national park only issues closures in very unusual conditions. These include events such as major earthquakes, severe storms approaching the level of typhoons, volcanic activity concerns, or any other serious natural event that makes the trail unsafe. In these situations, the park may temporarily close the mountain for safety, but this happens very rarely.

If the national park does close the mountain and your trek cannot begin, your trek fee is simply not collected. You would only lose the permit cost because it is non refundable, but the larger trek payment stays with you since it was never taken. If the closure is temporary and you have flexible travel plans, we can help you reschedule for the next available safe date.

Overall, hikers face very little financial risk from weather cancellations. Since you do not pay until you arrive, you remain protected from most unexpected situations, and only the national park permit falls under the strict non refundable policy.
