Travelers can reach Lombok either by flying directly to Lombok International Airport (LOP) or by taking a fast boat from Bali. The airport is the easiest and fastest option, with frequent flights from Bali, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Once you land, our driver can pick you up and bring you straight to our homestay in Senaru, which is the gateway village for Mount Rinjani treks. The drive from the airport takes about two and a half hours and passes through scenic parts of central and northern Lombok.
If you are coming from Bali, the other popular way to reach Lombok is by fast boat. There are two main departure ports on Bali. The first is Padang Bai, which is the most common port for boats heading toward the Gili Islands and northern Lombok. The second is Serangan, which is closer to Denpasar and offers a more comfortable boarding experience for some travelers. Both of these ports offer multiple daily fast boats operated by different companies, and travel time to Lombok usually ranges from one and a half to two hours depending on sea conditions.
All fast boats from Padang Bai and Serangan arrive at Bangsal Harbor in northern Lombok. Bangsal is the main entry point for travelers heading to the Gili Islands or Mount Rinjani. Once you arrive at Bangsal, our driver will be waiting to pick you up at the harbor. From there, the drive to Senaru takes about an hour and brings you directly to our homestay where you can rest and prepare for your trek. This makes the boat option very convenient for those already staying in Bali or visiting the Gili Islands before climbing Rinjani.
Both travel options are simple, reliable, and commonly used by hikers. Whether you choose the airport or the fast boat, the final part of the journey is easy because we handle your transportation from Bangsal or any other location for groups of two or more. Reaching Lombok is straightforward, and getting to Senaru is well supported once you arrive.
