Can I bring alcohol on mount rinjani?

Alcohol can be brought to Mount Rinjani, and many hikers choose to enjoy a small drink at camp after a long day of climbing. There is no rule against bringing your own alcohol, and it is completely fine to drink responsibly during the trek. Trekking companies, including ours, do not provide alcohol, so anyone who wants it must bring their own supply. Because the nights are cold and the campsites are relaxing places to unwind, a small amount of alcohol can be enjoyable at the end of the day.

Even though drinking is allowed, hikers should still be aware of the physical demands of the mountain. The summit push begins very early in the morning, the terrain is steep, and hydration is important at high altitude. Drinking too much can make the climb harder and increase the risk of dehydration and fatigue. Enjoying alcohol in moderation is the safest and most comfortable approach for most hikers.

Lombok is a Muslim-majority island, so alcohol is consumed more privately out of respect for local culture. This does not mean you cannot drink, but it is thoughtful to keep it low-key and avoid excessive or loud behavior around porters or other groups. They are used to seeing alcohol on the mountain and understand that tourists may want to relax with a drink, as long as it is done respectfully.

Bringing your own alcohol is perfectly acceptable on Mount Rinjani. Just drink responsibly, take care of your body for the next day’s climb, and keep things polite and respectful toward the local team.
