Can I bring big luggage on a Komodo liveaboard or should I pack a small bag?

You can bring big luggage on a Komodo liveaboard, and most guests do. All of our partner boats, including El Rora and the other vessels listed on Lombok Indonesia, have cabins with enough space to store suitcases inside the room. You do not need to leave your bag on deck or worry about it getting wet. The crew is also happy to help carry your luggage on and off the boat during boarding.

Even though large luggage is allowed, many travellers still choose to pack a smaller day bag for convenience. The daily activities involve snorkelling, hiking, and moving on and off the boat, so having a compact bag makes it easier to keep your essentials organised. Items like sunscreen, a swimsuit, a towel, and a camera are much easier to manage when kept in a small backpack or dry bag.

Bringing a mix of both works well. Use your big luggage for clothes and personal items that stay on the boat, and keep your smaller bag ready for daytime trips to Padar, Komodo Island, Pink Beach, and snorkelling spots. This setup keeps your cabin tidy and makes your days on the water much smoother.

Overall, do not worry about luggage limitations. Komodo liveaboards are designed for multi day trips, and storing a full size suitcase in your cabin is completely normal and very easy.
