Yes, some companies offer 2 day 1 night Komodo trips, but we do not. The itinerary is very rushed, and you miss several of the most important parts of Komodo National Park. With only one night on board, there is not enough time to enjoy sunrise on Padar, see Komodo dragons properly, snorkel at multiple reefs and still experience the relaxed pace that makes a liveaboard special.
A 2 day 1 night tour often feels more like a checklist than an adventure. Boats move quickly from one spot to another, and guests spend more time in transit than actually enjoying the islands. You may also arrive at popular locations during peak crowd hours, because there is no chance to position the boat early in the morning like longer tours can.
For the best Komodo experience, a 3 day 2 night cruise is the ideal option. It allows a proper sunrise hike, plenty of snorkelling, visits to Komodo or Rinca and more quiet time in the park. This is why we focus only on longer itineraries. They simply give guests a much better experience and a smoother, more enjoyable journey.
