Can you buy snacks on mount rinjani?

There are no permanent shops or established places to buy snacks on Mount Rinjani, but there are a few informal spots where local villagers or young kids sometimes sell small items. These are usually simple stands set up near the early parts of the trail, often around the Sembalun entrance area or the lower rest points. The selection is limited and can include things like instant noodles, biscuits, soft drinks, or small packaged snacks. These stands are not guaranteed to be open, and their availability depends on the day, the season, and whether locals decide to come out.

Once you climb higher into the mountain, there are no vendors at all. The crater rims, the summit route, and the lake area have no places to buy food. The terrain is remote and the national park prohibits permanent structures, so all food for the trek must be supplied by your trekking company. This is why every Rinjani tour includes full meals, snacks, fruit, and hot drinks throughout the climb.

Because the availability of local snack sellers is unpredictable, hikers should not rely on buying anything on the mountain. Bringing your own energy bars, nuts, chocolate, or other preferred snacks is the best way to make sure you have what you need. Any small treats sold by locals can be considered a bonus, but not a dependable option for fueling the climb.
