Yes, alcohol is allowed on Komodo boats, but you need to bring your own. Most liveaboards in Komodo, including the ones we work with, do not sell alcohol on board. They focus on soft drinks, tea, coffee and water, which are all included in the trip. If you want beer, wine or spirits, you can buy them in Labuan Bajo before boarding and bring them with you.
Many guests pick up drinks at a supermarket or liquor shop in town. Prices and availability vary, so getting what you need before walking to the harbour is the easiest option. The crew will store your drinks safely and provide glasses or ice when available, keeping things simple and relaxed.
As with any trip that involves snorkelling and boat movement, it is important to drink responsibly. Usually guests enjoy alcohol in the evenings after all water activities are finished. As long as you bring your own drinks and enjoy them at the appropriate time, alcohol is completely fine on Komodo cruises.
