Kids of almost any age can visit Komodo National Park as long as parents feel comfortable and keep a close watch. Families join our cruises all the time, and the activities can be adjusted to suit younger children. The boat provides a safe and calm base where kids can relax, nap, or enjoy the scenery between island visits.
For the dragon walks on Komodo or Rinca, rangers guide the pace and choose the safest paths. Younger children must stay close to their parents at all times, since Komodo dragons are wild animals. Most families with children aged 4 and above find the experience easy to manage, but even younger kids can join if parents feel confident.
Snorkelling stops are flexible too. Children who swim can enjoy shallow, calm areas, while those who cannot swim can stay on the boat or use flotation devices provided by the crew. Many families choose to keep kids on board during deeper snorkelling sites, which is perfectly fine.
Komodo cruises are relaxed and family friendly as long as parents supervise closely and choose the activities that suit their child’s comfort and abilities. Kids of any age can have a great experience.
