Mount Rinjani’s highest altitude is 3,726 meters above sea level, which makes it the second-highest volcano in Indonesia. This elevation creates a dramatic change in climate from the warm lowlands of Lombok to the cold, windy conditions near the summit. The peak sits on the eastern side of the vast Rinjani caldera and overlooks Segara Anak Lake, the active Barujari cone, and the surrounding ridges.
