No, you cannot stay overnight on any of the islands inside Komodo National Park. There are no hotels, guesthouses or camping facilities on Komodo, Rinca, Padar or any of the surrounding islands. The national park restricts overnight stays on land to protect wildlife, especially Komodo dragons, and to preserve the natural environment. Rangers also leave the hiking areas after closing time, so visitors must return to their boats.

The only way to stay inside the park overnight is by sleeping on a boat. Liveaboards anchor in designated safe zones each evening, which allows travellers to enjoy sunsets, quiet nights and early morning departures to popular sites. This is one of the main reasons multi day cruises are so popular. They give you access to the park when day trip crowds are gone and allow you to reach sunrise spots like Padar before anyone else arrives.

Labuan Bajo is the closest place with hotels if you prefer to sleep on land. It is only a short boat ride away, but staying in town means you miss the peaceful overnight experience inside the national park. For most travellers, a liveaboard is the most enjoyable and practical way to explore Komodo over several days.
