The boat ride to the first snorkelling spot depends on weather, tides and your specific itinerary, but most cruises reach a snorkelling location within the first few hours. Our itineraries are flexible, and we almost always include at least one snorkel stop on the first day. Some boats visit Kelor Island or Manjarite in the afternoon soon after departing Labuan Bajo, which keeps the first day relaxed and easy.
Because the distances between islands in Komodo National Park are short, guests do not spend long periods waiting to get into the water. Even slower phinisi boats reach the nearby reefs in a comfortable amount of time. The crew monitors conditions and chooses the best site for the day so you enjoy clear water and calm swimming.
This early snorkelling stop is one of the highlights of day one. It lets you settle in, meet the crew and enjoy the ocean right away before heading to the evening anchorage.
